2026 SPOCUS Board of Directors Elections — Shape the future of POCUS in PA practice
The Society of Point of Care Ultrasound (SPOCUS) is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2026 Board of Directors elections. We encourage members who are passionate about advancing point-of-care ultrasound education, advocacy, and professional development to consider serving in a leadership role within our organization.

Submission Requirements
To be considered, nominees must submit the following materials:
- Position sought
- Brief biography and statement of interest
- Professional headshot
Please submit all nomination materials via email to admin@spocus.org no later than 11:59 PM on July 31, 2026.
Open Positions
The following positions are open for election:
President-Elect
The President-Elect serves a one-year term before succeeding to the role of President for one year and then serving as Past President for one year, for a total three-year leadership commitment. The President-Elect works closely with the President, serves as Chair of the Elections Committee for the following election cycle, and helps guide the strategic direction of SPOCUS.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a certified PA (PA-C)
- Must maintain active SPOCUS membership
- Must maintain AAPA Fellow membership
- Must maintain NCCPA certification throughout their term
Secretary
The Secretary is responsible for maintaining organizational records, coordinating board meetings and agendas, documenting meeting minutes, managing communications, and maintaining the SPOCUS calendar of events.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a certified PA (PA-C)
- Must maintain active SPOCUS membership
- Must maintain AAPA Fellow membership
- Must maintain NCCPA certification throughout their term
Treasurer
The Treasurer oversees the financial management of SPOCUS, including membership tracking, budgeting, financial reporting, record keeping, and coordination of annual tax filings.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a certified PA (PA-C)
- Must maintain active SPOCUS membership
- Must maintain AAPA Fellow membership
- Must maintain NCCPA certification throughout their term
Directors-at-Large
Directors-at-Large contribute their expertise to board discussions, organizational initiatives, strategic planning, and representation of SPOCUS at professional functions.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must maintain active SPOCUS membership
- Must maintain an appropriate AAPA membership
- May be PAs or other healthcare professionals
- Students are not eligible for these positions
Student Directors
Student Directors act as liaisons between student members and the Board of Directors. They promote student engagement, support organizational initiatives, and help foster involvement among future PA leaders in point-of-care ultrasound.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be current PA students
- Must maintain active SPOCUS membership
- Must maintain AAPA membership
